The 6 track EP was produced by 5x Grammy award-winning producer Cassidy Turbin (Beck, Childish Gambino, Charlotte Gainsbourg,
Michelle Branch) and was put together while Stickland was finding himself again after pandemic
restrictions were lifted.
He also released a new video for the track “Best Days” today. The video was directed by Luis
De Peña and executive produced by Stickland.

“’Best Days’ was written about a year into the pandemic, when I was starting to feel like the
best days of my life were behind me,” Stickland says. “My debut album had coincidentally come
out on the first day of the pandemic, and my previous existence as a touring musician came
screeching to a halt. There were no shows to be played, social media was crowded, and I
thought my label may drop me. My career as I once knew it hung in the balance. The day after
writing the first dreary, depressing draft, I got a call from my MNRK saying they wanted to sign
me to record another EP, which was a huge moment in restoring my faith in myself and my
career. During the making of the EP, I ended up rewriting the chorus, changing my perspective
from the best days are gone, to maybe the best days are yet to come. I wanted the production
to reflect the same feeling of my journey in writing it, starting minor and melancholic, and
lifting as the song builds into a positive feel-good record.”
In addition to some new songs, Stickland sifted through tons of material going as far back as 15
years to ensure he was putting his best foot forward on the EP. He recently released the EP
tracks “Firing Line,” sweeping, melancholy love song,” and “Colorblind,” a cascading meditation
about a failed relationship.
