Since I was a child I have always made art, painting, airbrushing, spray painting, making sculptures, and even creating short stop motion movies with my older brother.
My father and his father are both artists, so wanting to be creative in whatever way I could was easily accepted in my family. My father and I started our own company, mainly focusing on larger scale murals for businesses. We have painted restaurants, gyms, office spaces, residential homes, and city buildings, including murals and framed pieces for Tim Horton’s Field Stadium. Our goal is to be able to bring something unique and inspirational to something ordinary, and we are working together to create new project ideas for large scale murals and exhibitions.
While creating art I found another passion - music. No one in my family plays or makes music, but it was always on. I found rap/hip hop music at a pretty young age and became obsessed with something new and exciting, I continued to listen to it until one day I decided I would learn how to make it, I started watching videos, teaching myself the basics of production and beat making, and whenever I had free time I would sit on my old computer and make music. At the start I wasn't great, I didn’t understand anything about music theory at all or even how to structure a song. But gradually I became immersed in the world of beat making, constantly watching tutorials and trying to recreate songs. Eventually I had a pretty good grasp on the basics and began creating music I actually enjoyed listening to. I believe I have come a very long way as a producer. Now able to now create unique music of my own, I have pushed myself to learn different genres of music while still focusing on rap/hip hop.
There is always more to learn with music, I think that’s what pulled me in, I have been around art my whole life so expressing my creativity is nothing new to me, but being able to express that within the music I create now feels really great. My goal is to be able to merge my talent in visual arts with my passion for music, as well as work with other artists to create songs and projects.
